Roberto Molinelli was born in Genoa in 1961.

After Art College he worked as a decorator/set designer in the tourism sector.

In 1986 he moved to Rome, where he soon started to collaborate with ZED S.F.X., a special effects company with whom he made installations ad objects for cinema, advertising and theatre.

From 1989 he also worked as a prop builder, working on numerous TV fictions, films and TV programs.

Having in most part abandoned special effects (apart from occasional requests) he works mainly as a prop builder in parallel to his activity as a sculptor, which he carries out in his studio in Castelnuovo di Porto.
